cutting-edge technology, we are excited to announce that the Medi Linx Laboratory will begin offering new test item.

Cystatin C is a serum protein that serves as a measure of kidney function. It is produced at a constant rate by all
nucleated cells in the body. Its low molecular mass (120 amino acids) allows it to be freely filtered by the glomerular
membrane in the kidney; it is then reabsorbed and metabolized by the tubular cells.

Procedure Details are as follows:
Specimen: Serum
Running Day: Daily
Specimen Viability: 20-25˚C (2 days); 2-8˚C (7 days); -20˚C (1 month)
Results Availability: Routine: 3 hours; STAT: 2 hours
