Accounting Officer

JOB SUMMARY:

The Accounting Officer is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timely execution of the company’s accounting and financial operations. This role oversees day-to-day accounting activities, prepares and analyzes financial statements, maintains compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements, strengthens internal controls, and provides reliable financial information to support business decisions. The position requires strong analytical skills, sound accounting knowledge, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Manage and oversee the company’s daily accounting operations, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded, reviewed, and compliant with company policies and applicable accounting standards.
    • Prepare complete and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including the Statement of Financial Position, Statement of Comprehensive Income, Statement of Cash Flows, and Statement of Changes in Equity, together with supporting schedules and disclosures.
    • Review, analyze, and present financial reports and management reports, providing meaningful insights to support strategic and operational decision-making.
    • Perform and supervise bank, cash, credit card, intercompany, and general ledger reconciliations, ensuring discrepancies are investigated and resolved promptly.
    • Monitor and oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable activities, ensuring timely payments, collections, and proper recording of transactions.
    • Review invoices, journal entries, payment requests, accruals, and supporting documents for completeness, accuracy, and proper authorization.
    • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets, financial forecasts, cash flow projections, and variance analyses, providing recommendations to management.
    • Ensure compliance with tax regulations and assist in the preparation and timely submission of statutory reports and government requirements.
    • Maintain and improve accounting policies, procedures, and internal control systems to safeguard company assets and ensure operational efficiency.
    • Coordinate with internal and external auditors by preparing financial statement schedules, audit working papers, reconciliations, and other supporting documents.
    • Lead month-end and year-end closing activities, ensuring all financial reports are completed accurately and within established timelines.
    • Collaborate with other departments to provide financial guidance and ensure proper accounting treatment of business transactions.
    • Participate in process improvement initiatives, financial system enhancements, and automation projects to improve the efficiency and accuracy of accounting processes.
    • Perform other accounting and finance-related duties as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy (BS Accountancy); Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is an advantage but not required.
    • With over years of relevant accounting experience with substantial exposure to the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, general ledger management, and month-end/year-end closing activities, preferably in a corporate, healthcare, or professional services environment.
    • Demonstrated experience in financial statement preparation, financial analysis, account reconciliations, and audit support.
    • Proficient in accounting software such as Xero, Sage, QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, or similar ERP systems. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and consistently meet deadlines.
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across different departments.
    • If being considered with the position, amenable for a 100% onsite in Makati.
