Test Information:
This test is used to help assess the glomerular filtration function of the kidneys and to check the accuracy of 24-hour urine collection, based on the relatively constant levels of creatinine excretion.

Patient Preparation:
• At the start of the collection, empty your bladder and discard the first urine.
• Collect all urine passed over the next 24 hours.
• Record the start and end date and time of the collection.
• Keep the urine container refrigerated or stored in an ice chest throughout the collection period.
Notes:
- For aliquoted sample, please indicate total volume in mL and specific gravity, date and time of start and end of collection.
- For females, urine can be collected in a separate clean container and then carefully poured into the 24‑hour urine collection container.
