Anti-Mitochondrial Antibody (AMA) – Quantitative

Test Information:
Antimitochondrial antibodies (AMA) are autoantibodies that are strongly associated with primary biliary cholangitis (PBC), formerly called primary biliary cirrhosis. This test detects and measures the amount (liter) of AMA in the blood.  

Specimen Container:
Gold Top SST Tube (with clot activator) or Red Top Tube (Plain)

Serum

Required Volume:
2 mL

Patient Preparation:
No Patient Preparation

Notes:
The following must be attached and/or provided upon specimen endorsement:
      1. Patient’s abstract or initial diagnosis for clinical correlation, as applicable.

For NEGATIVE RESULTS, liter will not be reported
