This assay is an agglutination test intended for the rapid diagnosis of bacterial meningitis by the qualitative detection of soluble antigens to Neisseria meningitidis groups A, B/E. coli K1, C, Y/W 135, Haemophilus influenza type b, Streptococcus pneumonia and group B Streptococcus, in cerebrospinal fluid (CSF).

Notes:
To obtain optimal results, it is recommended that freshly collected specimen must be submitted in the laboratory as soon as possible or 2 hour after specimen collection.
- However, if delay in transportation occurs, it is vital to follow the stipulated storage and stability. Specimen received beyond the stipulated storage and stability is considered “sub-optimal” in nature.
- Patient’s abstract or initial diagnosis must be provided (if applicable) for clinical correlation.
