Test Information:
The E-test has been developed to provide a direct quantification of antimicrobial susceptibility of microorganisms. The device consists of a predefined, continuous, and exponential gradient of antibiotic concentrations immobilized along a rectangular plastic test strip and is used to determine the Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) of antibiotics, antifungal agents and antimycobacterial agents.

Notes:
- Result of Culture and Sensitivity of the isolate for testing must be included, especially the identification.
- Ensure that the isolate to be forwarded is sealed using parafilm (triple packaging).
- Charging is one per antibiotic.
- Ask the unit for availability of the antibiotic first.
