MTB High Concentration Drug Susceptibility

Test Information:
A test used for the prompt and precise treatment and management of patients with drug resistant TB using higher concentration of First Line Drugs. Antibiotics to be tested are Streptomcycin (4.0 ug/mL) and Isoniazid (0.4 ug/mL).

Specimen Container:
Mycobacteria Growth Indicator Tube (MGIT) or Lowenstein-Jensen Medium (LJ)

Specimen Type:

  • MDR TB on MGIT
  • LJ

Required Volume:
Full lawn of isolate on MGIT or LJ

Patient Preparation:|
No Patient Preparation

Notes:

  • For Streptomycin and/or Isoniazid resistant Mycobacterium tuberculosis.
  • Result of TB Culture and Sensitivity must have a suggestion for MTB High Con.
