Mycobacterial Susceptibility

Test Information:
A test using either BD MGIT 960 for MTB isolates and Sensititre for MOTT isolates.

Specimen Container:
Mycobacteria Growth Indicator Tube (MGIT) or Lowenstein-Jensen Medium (LJ)

Specimen Type:
MBT on MGIT or LJ

Required Volume:
Full lawn isolate on Middlebrook, MGIT or LJ

Patient Preparation:|
No Patient Preparation

Notes:

  • Isolated Mycobacterium tuberculosis from JMYCOC.
  • Result of Mycobacterial Culture must have a suggestion for Mycobacterial Susceptibility.

  • Storage: Incubator (35 to 37°C)
    Stability: 7 days

Results Availability:

If the released preliminary results contain the statement below:

  • Preliminary results cannot be generated due to further evaluation. It is recommended that this result be confirmed and interpreted by a qualified physician.
  • Released of the final results shall be expected within 8 weeks from the released date of the preliminary result.
