Test Information:
This test is used to diagnose prediabetes and diabetes. An oral glucose tolerance test is a series of blood glucose measurements taken after intake of a specific amount of glucose load. This test is commonly used to diagnose diabetes that occurs during pregnancy.

Patient Preparation:
6 to 10 hours fasting
Notes:
Please inform patient on the following:
1. Patient will undergo TWO BLOOD EXTRACTION.
a. 0-hour or FBS
b. 1-hour
2. After the 0-hour or FBS, patient will take 75 grams glucose load (for adults and children) right after the blood collection.
3. Observe strict hour interval in between blood collection.
4. Patient cannot eat or drink anything during the duration of the procedure.
• Stipulated glucose load must always follow physician’s request.
• If the patient vomited, procedure must be repeated.
