Protein C is a vitamin-K dependent coagulation inhibitor which regulates the activity of Factor V and factor VIII. Disease caused by Protein C deficiency may be congenital or acquired.

To obtain optimal results, it is recommended to separate plasma from whole blood within 15 minutes from the time of collection; aliquoted specimen must be transported within 8 hours from the time of collection.
- For aliquoted specimen, DO NOT USE GLASS TUBE CONTAINER.
- However, if delay in transportation occurs, it is vital to follow the stipulated storage and stability. Specimen received beyond the stipulated storage and stability is considered “sub-optimal” in nature.
- For FROZEN specimen, send specimen on running day prior to cut-off period; ONE TIME THAWING ONLY!
