PIVKA-II is abnormal des-carboxylated prothrombin present in vitamin K deficiency or in patients treated with warfarin or phenprocoumon. This assay is indicated for use as an aid for diagnosis of hepato-cellular carcinoma (HCC), monitoring high risk patients for development of HCC, and in management of HCC.
