Prothrombin Time Mixing Studies (PT Mixing)

Test Information:
Prothrombin Time Mixing study is done to detect the cause of a prolonged PT screening test. It is used to distinguish factor deficiencies from factor inhibitors.

Notes:
To obtain optimal results, it is recommended to transport freshly collected specimen within 15 minutes from time of collection or aliquoted specimen within 24 hours from time of collection.

  • Specimen received beyond the stipulated storage and stability is considered “sub-optimal” in nature.
