The test generates true MIC results based on the actual growth of the organism. Multidrug-resistant organisms and Carbapenem-resistant Enterobacteriaceae are common isolates tested for its sensitivity to Colistin, Ceftazidime-Avibactam, and Ceftolozane-Tazobactam as last resort treatment for Gram negative infections.

- Result of Culture and Sensitivity of the isolate for testing must be included and have a suggestion for Colisitin susceptibility testing
- Ensure that the isolate to be forwarded is sealed using parafilm (triple packaging).
- Include in Internal Message/Remarks: Room #, type of specimen, site of collection and special remarks/endorsement.
- Please indicate Time and Date of Collection.
