Notes:
To obtain optimal results, it is recommended that synovial fluid should be transported and received by the laboratory within four (4) hours after collection and transported at room temperature (15 °C to 25 °C).
- Specimen received beyond the stipulated storage and stability is considered “sub-optimal” in nature.
- Specimen for crystal analysis SHOULD NOT BE REFRIGERATED.
- Refrigerated specimen can produce additional crystals that can interfere with the identification of significant crystals.
