Urine Protein Electrophoresis

Test Information:
Protein electrophoresis is a well established technique routinely used in clinical laboratories for screening of biological fluids for protein abnormalities. It is based on the principle of zone electrophoresis performed on a suitable support medium.

10 mL

No Patient Preparation

Notes:
The following test results (resulted within a month) must be attached and/or provided upon specimen endorsement:
1. Urine Total Protein
2. Patient’s abstract or initial diagnosis for clinical correlation.

  • To obtain optimal results, it is recommended to transport freshly collected or aliquoted specimen as soon as possible.
  • However, if delay in transportation occurs, it is vital to follow the stipulated storage and stability. Specimen received beyond the stipulated storage and stability is considered “sub-optimal” in nature.
