Micral Test of Urine

Got Questions?
Give us a call today at

The Micral test measures the amount of Albumin in your urine through a urinalysis. It also indicates whether your kidneys are functioning well and whether you are at risk for kidney disease. The Albumin levels in the urine sample suggest that you have kidney damage.

The kidneys eliminate waste products from the bloodstream and help regulate the water fluid levels inside the body. Good protein, like Albumin, remains within the body while the kidney flushes out Creatinine, which is waste from the blood.

The Micral test is usually done with a Creatinine test due to the relationship between Albumin and Creatinine: the urine Albumine-Creatinine Ratio (uACR). If the patient’s urine Creatinine levels are low and Albumin levels are high, then it means the patient has kidney damage.

Further tests are needed if you have underlying conditions and symptoms, especially if your Executive Check-up and Pre-employment Exam results are not normal.

Symptoms of kidney damage are:

  • Foamy urine
  • Edema (Swelling of the hands, feet, abdomen and face)

Those who are at risk for kidney disease also include the following:

  • Those who have Diabetes
  • Those who have Hypertension
  • Those who have a family history of Diabetes, High blood pressure, and High blood disease
  • Those who are obese
  • Those who have African American, Asian, Hispanic, and American Indian ethnicity

The Micral Test is included in the following package:

Why Take A Micral Test
